PERMIT REQUIREMENT FOR PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS...  
Wednesday August 13th 2008, St.George’s; The Ministry of Education wishes to inform all proprietors of privately run Educational Institutions that in order to operate such an Institution, a permit must be obtained from the Ministry of Education. This is in accordance with the Education Act 2005 Division 2, 75 #2 which states:- A person who, at the commencement of this Act, is operating a private educational institution without approval under the Education Act (Cap.74) must within 6 months of the commencement of this Act, or such further period as the Minister by notice allows, obtain a permit under section 78 of this Act. The prescribed fees for the establishment of all such Institutions are as follows: NAME OF INSTITUTION AND FEE TO BE CHARGED Private Institution offering Secondary Education $500.00 Private Institution offering Primary Education $500.00 Early Childhood Educational Services $300.00 Special Education $300.00 Secondary Level Adult Education $300.00 Services in Vocational Education $300.00 Instructional Services in Vocational Training (Tertiary Level) $300.00 The Ministry is aware that some proprietors have already paid the sum of $300.00, where they should have paid $500.00. In light of this, all such proprietors will be required to pay the difference before the permit is issued. Proprietors who have not yet paid the prescribed frees for operating their institution are hereby informed that October 31, 2008, is the deadline for the payment of such fees.
