A high-level delegation led by the newly elected Prime Minister of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, Hon. Tillman Thomas is scheduled to arrive in New York on Wednesday, September 17.th The Prime Minister is expected to meet with Grenadian nationals to discuss the current affairs of Grenada and share his vision for the nation’s development two months after a decisive win in the general election ended thirteen years of rule by the New National Party of former Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell. A packed program for the delegation includes interviews with the Editorial Boards of the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, a press conference at City Hall, a live television broadcast on Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT). The delegation is also expected to have a breakfast meeting with the board of directors of the Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) and luncheon with members of the New York Chapter of the National Democratic Congress. The visit will also focus on discussions for a strategic framework for co-operation and development among businesses, educational and social institutions in New York and the government sectors of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. To this end, the delegation will meet with a cross-section of representatives from the business community, academic institutions, and medical and social development organizations. The Honorable Leader will update Grenadians and well-wishers on developments in the country at a town hall meeting to be held at Medgar Evers College, and he is also expected to extend fraternal greetings at an African National Congress (ANC) heads of government reception and awards affair at Long Island University. The Prime Minister will also attend worship services of Grenadian-based congregations in New York. The Prime Minister will be the guest of honor at a black tie affair hosted by the New York Chapter of the National Democratic Congress at the Astoria World Manor on Friday 19th September. The Hon.
