MITCHELL WANTS DPP TO RESIGN
Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Mitchell is calling for the resignation of Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Nelson. Mitchell is demanding that Nelson leave his post over remarks he made in connection with the detention of former legal adviser to government Hugh Wildman. The former Grenada prime minister said he plans to write letters of complaint to the chief justice of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Supreme Court and the head of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission about the matter. Wildman, who served as legal adviser to Dr. Mitchell's Cabinet, was detained on Saturday, on suspicion that he blocked a Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into the collapse of First International Bank of Grenada in 1999. Nelson reportedly implied that Wildman was involved in blocking the FBI from pursuing the probe. Reprinted from radioja.com

MITCHELL WANTS DPP TO RESIGN
The position of DPP is meant to be an apolitical one. In recent times, the DPP has been very vocal on political issues and is giving the impression that he is of a particular political persuasion. His recent disparaging attack on Dwight Horsford, who was doing his job, was absolutely tasteless and unnecessary. Someone needs to remind him about the nature of his job and the need to maintain a perception of impartiality in the eyes of the public.
