OPPOSITION CRITICISES GRENADA FINANCE MINISTER FOR 'MIS...
The opposition New National Party (NNP) in Grenada has issued a statement criticising Finance Minister Nazim Burke for misleading the public by stating that the country's economy "Is in an absolute mess." The statement said that the "Inflammatory statement is a ploy to deceive the public" and said that during the Keith Mitchell administration, the government was always in a position to pay its bills. It pointed out that even when Hurricane Ivan struck the country was in a position to pay its employees. "The opposition is very concerned that while the Minister made this apparent disclosure, the goverment, not yet two months in office, has already contradicted itself by its own spending patterns." It stated, "Ministers are already travelling extensively and regularly. In addition, new vehicles are being purchased for ministers and other officials while new furniture is being purchased for many offices." Most surprisingly, the statement added, new furniture has been ordered for the Prime Minister's residence even though the furniture currently there was only purchsed about three months ago. The NNP statement accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of being top heavy with 16 ministers and several advisors while the NNP administration only had 11 ministers The opposition calls on the government to maintain some of the NNP practices such "Essential only travel" for all government staff including ministers, insisting that ministers use their own vehicles, except in special causes. The statement calls for a halt to top heavy government appointments and lavish spending of taxpayers funds. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com

Well there were some positive things keith did. There were negative things too.We should have full disclosure of all politicans finances .Kieth is a cutthroat politicans, loves money so i call him the devil.Tillman has to learn from the devil mistakes. He has some people around him he has to watch they will destroy him.I know he has good intentions, but that alone cannot propell Grenada. He has to take the bull by its horn.We need to continue the developement, not only in St George,s but all through out Grenada. We cannot deal with any excuses, work your arse of and produce. You were elected to do that.

Little boy i did not know that mr mitchell had all these properties in these places well good luck to him i am sure these are ligitimate dealings but again these people could only do these type of things in third world countries you see when some one is elected to parliment they then have to by law to declare any other outside business concerns which may come into conflick with their job as a member of parliment,so that the outside world can judge these MP as suitable for the job without favour to others so now we know why grenada is in such a mess and thats why this government needs to call in an international group of auditors to audit the books and bring thoes responsible to justice so that these type of behaviour never happen again, this country is to small to allow these things to happen and at the end of the day it is our people the poorer people who will suffer.

Brother Keith Mitchell have put Grenada thru living hell for the past years. He has lied, cheated, stolen, mismanaged, corrupted, sold lands under maket value to his friends without offering the same to the public, among other things. We actually need to put him in jail, confiscate and sell his properties in Barbados, Brooklyn, Florida and the Cayman Islands and replace the funds in the treasury which he has misued. It's coming. It will catch up with him.

people of this lovely spice isles since the result of the last election i am beginning to think that HM opposition the NNP MOB,it seems that these band of four is hell bent on being disruptive and is going to cause all sorts of trouble for the government, these people it seems do not have the well being of our people it seems to me that they are still wrapped in their static egoes thats why they cant let go.What we need from hm opposition is an opposition with positive thinking and not one that will be negative and disruptive for it seems that since the result of the election all they do is complain yes you might say that is the job of being in opposition, but please remember that this government has only been in office for less than three months so please mr mitchell please give them a chance to get their policies in order and then see what happens or are you afraid that they might get it right mr mitchell and the rest of your group for the sake of all our people yes you can be critical in opposition but not disruptive and please remember that in any race no one likes being beaten, sir you and your nnp party were in office for thirteen years and on july the 8 the people decided for a change, with a result that was fair and square as observed by the international observers so please respect the wishes of the people and give grenadians and her sister isles a chance to get out of that negative mentality thinking and help take us forward for the sake of all our people.
