GRENADA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION FINED BY FIFA
GRENADA: - FIFA, the world’s governing body for football, has imposed a penalty fine of US$16,000.00 (EC$42,000.00) on the Grenada Football Association (GFA) for its failure to send a team to a qualifying round of the Under 17 World Cup competition. It is alleged that back in July, the Grenadian football team showed up at the Point Salines International Airport but were unable to travel to travel to Barbados where they were expected to participate in a three nation football tournament involving host country Barbados and Guyana. A GFA official is quoted on one of the regional online news site as saying that “The team was sent to the airport without any tickets and was told that the tickets would be at the airport. The team got to the airport, no tickets were available.” The GFA has up to September 24 to pay the fine. If GFA is unable to pay the fine, then FIFA could take action against the local football association which could result in interest being added to the fine or the team could be banned from participating in FIFA sanctioned competitions. This latest development comes on the heel of what many persons consider to be a bitter power struggle for control of the local football association. It is alleged that FIFA has been called in to help resolve the conflict. Inside Grenada News

GRENADA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION FINED BY FIFA
these people who claims to be the world governing body of football FIFA should take a hard look at themselves first they should investigate why there was this mixed up as reported by the grenada Fa and secondly the grenada Fa should sack whoever is responsible for this, grenada is crying out for decent people/role model to help take our youths into the next level and we cannot have people in charge who is not on the same plane (thinking) we want our young ones to be up there and learn from the best and to do so we need them to be guided by people of high standard therefore i say, heads should roll for this disaster, thoes responsible should be dismissed because that is just not good enough we need people in this job who will lead by example.
