St.George’s_ The date for the final distribution of books in the Government of Grenada’s Book Distribution Programme has been changed. According to the Ministry of Education this change in date has become necessary due to a shortage of books. Suppliers have now indicated to the Ministry that the outstanding books will be made available by October 31st, 2008. The October 31st shipment will cater for students who have not received their entire stock of text books. A total of 113,110 books, which represents approximately 90% of the National Textbook Distribution Programme have already been distributed. The Government of Grenada has earmarked approximately five million dollars (EC $5M) for the Book Distribution Programme this year with a total of 24,500 students expected to benefit. The Ministry of Education expresses its appreciation for the cooperation and understanding given throughout the execution of the programme. Inside Grenada News
