Monday, September 22, 2008, St. George’s: As part of its restructuring process, the Ministry of Finance, has established an Office of Private Sector Development and has appointed Mr. Christopher De Riggs as Director of Private Sector Development and head of the office. Mr. De Riggs has been the Executive Director of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the past 12 years. He is a tireless advocate for inclusive economic policy making, transparent investment incentives and an improved business climate. He is expected to use his considerable wealth of experience and network of contacts with the private sector to help Government deliver key private sector reforms. His priorities will include: 1. Creating the New Partnership between Government, the Private Sector and Civil Society; 2. Improving the Business Climate (Investment Code, Small Business Policy); and 3. Giving Policy Direction to Investment Initiatives, including new Areas of Investment The Ministry takes this opportunity to formally welcome him and assure him of their full support.
