SUPT. ANTHONY DEGALE QUESTIONED BY POLICE
GRENADA:- The former head of the Special Branch unit of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), Supt. Anthony DeGale, was yesterday detained by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning in connection with source files and how they were dealt with at the Special Branch. At a recent press conference new Commissioner of Police, James Clarkson, raised concerns about files at the unit that were allegedly missing. One of the missing files is believed to be that of the infamous ‘Spy Scandal’ involving a young member of Special Branch and members of the NDC executive. According to another local media house, on Tuesday morning, officials from the CID conducted a search of De Gale’s residence but found nothing. Attorney-at-law Derick Sylvester is Supt. DeGale’s lawyer and it is believed that he visited his client at CID headquarters yesterday and would have advised him of his rights as a detainee. De Gale was said to have cooperated with the CID officials. It is reported that De Gale left CID headquarters around 2:30pm yesterday after his interrogation. There is presently mixed reaction among Grenadian citizens with respect to the detention and interrogation of Supt. De Gale. Inside Grenada News

SUPT. ANTHONY DEGALE QUESTIONED BY POLICE
Mr Peter i have read your comment re sup.degale and i think its only fair to remind you and the rest of the people who seems to think that persons in high places with responsible position can behave and act as they like quote i am not saying this is the case here, but we all have to be accountable to our employer and in this case yes if there is any wrong doing concerning anyone be it the PM or anyother in high position they should be investigated, and yes at some stage there will have to be a cooling period but things that are wrong should not be hidden under the carpet for fear that it will only surface later on so my conclusion is that yes i agrees with the COP to have this matters investigated and clean the place up as soon as possible for all our sake so that we can regain the confidence of our RGPF and government.

First it was Hugh Wildman, special advisor to the former government, now it is degale, former head of special branch. The man is still a part of the RGPF. What will be the relationhop between himself and the COP when he goes back out to work? Isn't this causing more emnity within the police force? I do not see any healing taking place...the woulds are been deepened and enlarged!!!! In the interest of having a peaceful, united, loving and progressive society, I urge those in charge to quit thie witch-hunting and victimization and focus on dealing with our economic plight. We need to forget about revenge and pay back and resist the urge to get back at people.
