GRENADA'S PRIME MINISTER AMONG RELTIONAL LEADERS TO MEE...
Thursday, September 25th, 2008…Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas was among regional leaders who met with US Secretary of State Condeleezza Rice in New York today. Mr. Thomas said the meeting discussed a wide range of issues including security, education and immigration. He said both sides agreed to continue forging the existing “good relationship”, even though there is likely to be a change in the US administration after the November Elections. "There is a relationship between CARICOM and the United States, and it was stated that it should be concretised," the Prime Minister said, adding "The fact that there's going to be a change in administration should not really affect things that are in progress". Mr. Thomas said there will be a follow-up meeting to look at how to structure the process for continuity "so that matters that are being discussed should not fall by the wayside but should continue even with a new administration.” The Prime Minister was joined at the meeting by Foreign Minister Peter David. Prime Minister Thomas will address the General Assembly of the United Nations on Friday evening. Inside Grenada News
