With the crisis in financial markets digging in internationally, special measures should be put in place urgently to protect Grenadians from the painful loss of their homes and from repossession of their commodities. So says Dr. Francis Alexis . Such measures, Alexis observes, should be a combination of visionary but practical legal safeguards and extra-legal societal concordats regarding mortgages and hire-purchase agreements. Alexis comments that the need for such urgent special home-owners and consumer protection is all the more pressing in Grenada because in Grenada now unemployment is obviously worsening and the cost of living rising .
