PM TO RECEIVE FIRST REPORT OF CABINET-APPOINTED COMMITT...
A cabinet-appointed committee set up to review contracts and agreements made by the former administration on various projects in Grenada is preparing to hand over its first report and recommendations to Prime Minister, Tillman Thomas on Thursday. The committee, comprising lawyers Carol Bristol QC, Lloyd Noel, Deborah St. Bernard and accountant Henry Joseph, is providing its services free of cost to the government. “We are giving our service and our time to government free and without payment. We want to get rid of corruption,” one member of the committee said. After five meetings, the committee has reviewed a number of specific projects and other general matters of government agreements. The committee has reviewed the Carenage Fish Market Agreement, the Grenada Broilers Inc., the Grenada Trade Center and the employment contract of Dr Patrick Antoine. Members of the committee say their work will continue and have committed to weekly updates. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
