HIGH COMMISSIONER COMMENCES REPRESENTATIONAL DUTIES  
High Commissioner for Grenada to the Court of St. James’s, HE Ruth Elizabeth Rouse, on arrival in London on October 29th, immediately began her representational duties, with attendance at the monthly meeting of CARICOM High Commissioners, a Courtesy call on the Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Her Majesty’s Annual Reception for the Diplomatic Corps at Buckingham Palace, the Commonwealth Fair, the Grenada Voluntary Hospital Committee Dinner, Dance and Cultural Evening, the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph and the World Travel Market, among others. The High Commissioner joined other Commonwealth High Commissioners in laying a wreath on behalf of the Government and People of Grenada, for those fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives ninety years ago. At the Commonwealth Fair, Grenada supported the Commonwealth Countries League in raising much needed funds to assist less fortunate girls around the Commonwealth with their secondary education. The High Commissioner wishes to express her sincere thanks to those who supported the Grenada booths, in particular, Mr. Denis Noel with beautiful Grenadian flowers and nationals in London who gave of their time and talent in preparing Grenadian dishes and assisting at the stalls. High Commissioner Rouse was overwhelmed by the welcome she received at the GVHC Dinner on Saturday evening and pledged to continue working with the national associations in all areas possible for the benefit of Grenada. On Wednesday November 12th, High Commissioner Rouse will accompany Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Honourable Peter David, to the Commonwealth Tourism Ministers Meeting at Marlborough House, followed by a courtesy call on the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps and an audience of Her Majesty the Queen on Thursday November 20th, 2008.
