GRENADA ELECTED TO THE SELA

Grenada has been elected to the Latin American Council of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA). During the 34th Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council held during the period November 25-27, 2008, Grenada{s representative, His Excellency Ambassador Richard Mc Phail was elected to serve as 1st vice Chairman of the Council. Other representatives elected were: Chairman- Uruguay, 2nd vice Chairman – Nicaragua, and Rapporteur – Cuba. The Bureau is the organizations highest decision making body. The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) is a regional intergovernmental organization that groups 27 Latin American and Caribbean nations. Its headquarters are in Caracas, Venezuela. SELA was established on 17 October 1975 by the Panama Convention through the initiative of the governments of Mexico and Venezuela. Inside Grenada News
