ST GEORGE'S, Grenada, Dec. 26, 2008 - Governor General His Excellency Carlyle Glean and Prime Minister Tillman Thomas are among a list of dignitaries who will attend the Third Annual Media Awards on Sunday. The Awards Ceremony, organised by the Media Workers' Association of Grenada (MWAG) and sponsored by LIME takes place at the Rex Grenadian Hotel from 7:30 p.m. Of the 67 entries adjudicated by distinguished Caribbean Journalist Canute James of the UWI, Mona Campus, Jamaica Media Centre, ten achieved excellence and five earned merit awards. Categories adjudicated include - Best Political story, Best Business story, Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best sport, Best entertainment and Best human interest. The names of the winners will be disclosed on Sunday evening. The feature speaker at the Media Awards is News Director of the Caribbean Media Corporation Kaymar Jordan.
