St. George's, GRENADA - Leader of Government Business in the Senate, George Prime, is looking forward to the re-developing of the economy of Carriacou and Petite Martinique under the National Democratic Congress administration of Prime Minister, the Hon. Tillman Thomas.
The senator, who is also the Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, says the economy, which once existed on the Sister Islands, had deteriorated badly in recent years, due to mismanagement by the former NNP regime.
Mr. Prime, in last Wednesday's Senate debate on the 2009 budget, said the NNP's action also resulted in Carriacou and Petite Martinique facing a significantly higher cost of living than mainland Grenada.
Senator Prime said his ministry is formulating plans to assist the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique to alleviate their social and economic problems.
