ST GEORGE'S, Grenada, Jan 16 (GIS) - The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture joins the Calypso fraternity and the Caribbean in bereavement at the passing of legendary Trinidad and Tobago Calypsonian, Kelvin Pope the Mighty Duke. The Mighty Duke personified the very best of the region, not only as an entertainer but also as a true regional ambassador and statesman. As the Ministry continues its thrust of the development of young people and the sporting and cultural industries, it would benefit us all to in some minute way emulate the success of the Mighty Duke, not only in titles and hits but also the exemplary life he lived as an outstanding Caribbean citizen. While the physical presence of the Mighty Duke will be dearly missed, his craft and creativity remains with us to enjoy time and time again. May his soul rest in eternal peace!
