Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department are continuing their investigation into the attempted robbery of the Grand Anse Branch of Republic Bank Grenada Limited. Officers of the South St. George Police Station responded to a call at around 10.30 am Sunday 18th January 2008. On arrival, a number of persons were reported to have exited the rear of the Bank compound dressed in over-alls and masks. One person has been detained by the Police and is assisting with the investigations. Preliminary investigations conducted by Republic Bank Officials indicate that no monies or documents were removed from the Bank; however the internal surveillance capabilities were disrupted during the robbery attempt.
