THE TAYLOR FAMILY TRUST FOR GRENADA
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Taylor, founding members of the Taylor Family Trust for Grenada, have donated a collection of toys which were distributed to three children’s homes on the island. The Bel Air Children’s Home, Queen Elizabeth Home for Children and Father Mallaghan Home for Boys were all delighted to receive such a welcome treat for the children. These holiday gifts were delivered over the Holiday Season by board members of the Trust Fund resident in Grenada. Also, through the work of the Trust, food vouchers of $1,000 each were donated to the same three Homes, together with the Cadrona Home for the Elderly. With the assistance of three local grocery stores, the Matron of each home was able to shop freely to provide their residents with delicious and festive meals. The commitment of the Trust, launched in September 2008, is to assist in increasing the standard of living and enhancing the general quality of life of Grenadians, with an emphasis on St. Patrick’s where the Levera Resort Development Project is located. As Chairperson, Mrs Taylor has already stated that her family’s goal is to ‘create a long term legacy to Grenada and its people, particularly the residents of St. Patrick,’ in a speech made earlier in 2008 at the official launch of the Levera Resort Project. This goal is now becoming a reality with the aims of the Trust as stated in the Registration document: to “assist in enhancing the facilities in institutions which care for needy children; promote the advancement of education among citizens of Grenada; provide support in caring for the elderly and infirm; assist in the alleviation of poverty; assist in providing other social services in Grenada; provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose.” The Taylor Family Trust looks forward to continuing its work within Grenadian communities throughout the year, and in the future.
