The Ministry of Sports in association with the Grenada Athletic Association "Independence Club Championship" have attracted seven teams thus far: Track Blazers - St. David's; Piton Striders - St. Patrick's; Ace - St. Andrew's, Speed Zone - St. John's, Westerhall Secondary, Grenville Secondary, PBC and SJC-St. Georges combined. The meet takes place at Progress Park, St. Andrew's starting at 12 noon on Sunday January 25th, 2009. Thirty-eight events will be contested: eight field events and 30 track events. The meet will also feature Olympic qualifier Patricia Sylvester and Commonwealth Youth Games medalist Kirani James and Rondell Bartholomew. Entrance is FREE as we celebrate 35 years of Independence.
