Athletes from all primary and secondary schools in Carriacou and Petite Martinique are busy engaging in a number of athletic events throughout the months of January and February. The races which were already staged are Bishop’s College cross-country and road relay, Hillsborough Secondary School cross country and the Hillsborough Government School cross country on Friday, January 23rd, 2009. The major athletic events will be in the month of February with Dover Government School opening with their annual inter-house sports meet on February 8th, 2009, followed by Hillsborough Government School on February 12th. Then, athletes of Bishop’s College will take to the track on February 13th while athletes of Harvey Vale Government and the Petite Martinique R.C School will hold their annual inter-house sports meet on February 15th and L’Esterre R.C on February19th. Then on February 26th-27th, athletes of the primary schools will be vying to dethrone last year’s winner Hillsborough Government School in the annual Inter-Primary Sports Meet.
