In keeping with government’s policy to improve the road network and general infrastructure of the island, the Public Works department within the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs has received two new machines, a backhoe and a stone roller. The machines were purchased from Trintrac Ltd based in Trinidad and the company’s Managing Director Andrew Bernard and Technical Support & Control Quality Department Manager were on the island to provide training to the operators and promised to provide the necessary technical support for the upkeep of the machines. Minister for Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs, Senator the Hon. George Prime said that these machines will make the department more self reliant and ready to deal with the infrastructure development of the thirteen (13) square miles island. The machines cost approximately US$100,000.00 Minister of State in the Ministry of Communications and Works, Hon. Sylvester Quarless was present and witnessed the training session.
