ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, Feb. 3rd (GIS) - Grenada's Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Peter David, was in Guyana on Monday meeting with other Caribbean Community officials at the Twenty-Third Meeting of the CARICOM Council of Ministers.
The Council, the second highest body in CARICOM, has primary responsibility for the development of the Community's strategic planning and co-ordination in the areas of economic integration, functional co-operation and external relations.
The get-together in Georgetown, the Guyanese capital, is also preparing the groundwork for two important upcoming CARICOM meetings.
The first is a CARICOM Inter-Sessional Meeting to be held in Belize on March 12 and 13.
The other is the CARICOM Heads of Government summit, which is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Tillman Thomas.
Foreign Minister David travelled to Guyana after attending a weekend meeting at the United Nations in New York.
