POLICE BAND TO ST. LUCIA
Thirty-two members of the Royal Grenada Police Force Band travel to St. Lucia on Wednesday 18th February 2009 to participate in that country’s 30th anniversary of Independence. As a result of an invitation from their counterparts in St. Lucia, the band is expected to perform at a number of cultural events and the official Independence Day Parade on Sunday 22nd February 2009 at the National Stadium. We are looking forward to this engagement with great enthusiasm, since it is the first of its kind in many years and the perfect opportunity to showcase the band beyond our shores, says Inspector Brian Hurst. We have invested longs hours in rehearsals and drills, and it is our intention to represent the Royal Grenada Police Force and this country with honor. We must be very thankful to Superintendent Gregory Piper of the Royal St. Lucia Police Force Band and the Government of St. Lucia for extending the invitation and providing the required sponsorship for the entire band, Hurst concluded. The band will travel under the directorship of Inspector Brian Hurst, and is expected to return to Grenada on Monday 23rd February 2009. From the RGPF INSIDE GRENADA NEWS
