ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA - Health Minister Hon. Karl Hood has responded with surprise that a statement made in jest at a recent parliamentary seminar was reported by some journalists as criticism of the media. Minister Hood said the statement was reported out of its context. He said his reference to the media was not reflective of government policy and was not intended to, in any way; affect the relationship between the government, himself and the media. “We as a government, and our Prime Minister in particular, have always spoken of our positive relationship with the local media. My reference to journalists was done in jest as was evidenced by the response around the table,” he said. However Minister Hood issued a “sincere apology” for any offence that may have been taken from his statement and pledged to continue his excellent relationship with the Grenadian media.
