ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA - Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas is leading a Grenada delegation to a special meeting of OECS/East Caribbean Currency Union countries with Barbados and Trinidad in Bridgetown on today (Wednesday.) The meeting will discuss the recent financial difficulties affecting the CL Financial group in Trinidad and its impact on the OECS countries and Barbados. Ministers of Finance, Hon. Nazim Burke, Permanent Secretary, Timothy Antoine and the head of the Grenada Authority for the Regulation of Financial Institutions (GARFIN), Mr. Angus Smith are accompanying Prime Minister Thomas. The delegation left Grenada this morning for the one day meeting. Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Hon. Denis Lett is the acting Prime Minister while Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Sen. Ann Peters, has been appointed to act for Finance Minister Burke. INSIDE GRENADA NEWS
