MINISTER PRIME THE GUEST OF HONOUR AT A NEW YORK BASED ...
Minister for Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs, Senator the Hon. George Prime, is leaving the state today, Thursday, March 5, for a speaking engagement in the United States. Minister Prime will be one of the guests of honour at the 13th Anniversary Extravaganza of the New York-based Carriacou & Petite Martinique 2000 Organization. Formed on June 16, 1996, the organization’s primary goal is to provide charitable assistance to Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Members have made significant contributions to the islands in the areas of education and health. The Anniversary Extravaganza takes place on Saturday, March 7, at Tropical Paradise Ballroom in Brooklyn. Minister Prime will deliver a message paying tribute to the organization’s work, and bringing those in attendance up to date on developments at home, particularly in Carriacou and Petite Martinique. It will be Mr. Prime’s first visit to New York since giving up the deputy leadership position of the ruling National Democratic Congress at the party’s recent national convention. He was replaced as deputy leader by Finance Minister Hon. Nazim Burke, who was also born in Carriacou. Mr. Burke will also be attending this weekend’s function in New York of the Carriacou & Petite Martinique 2000 Organization.
