Hillsborough, March 9th, 2009- Carriacou, like other parts of the nation, paid tribute to women on the just-concluded observance of International Women’s Day. As part of the commemoration on the sister island, the Division of Gender & Family Affairs within the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs held a special recognition day for female caregivers. Gender Coordinator Vinishah Cudjoe presented food baskets to the women of the Christine David Child Development Centre , Top Hill Senior Citizens Home and the Hermitage Nursing Home. Ms. Cudjoe said the presentations were done in recognition of the tremendous efforts of the women who provide caring services to children and the elderly.
