As a result of continued investigations, the Financial Intelligence Unit today arrested, formerly charged and cautioned Mr. Finton De Bourg of Westerhall Point, St David’s.
Mr. De Bourg was charged with the following offences
1. Fraudulent Appropriation of Funds amounting to $15,650,538.28 - the property of Capital Bank International Ltd.
2. Fraudulent Appropriation of Funds amounting to $975,119.97 - the property of Capital Bank International Ltd.
3. Four counts of Falsification of Documents.
The offences were committed between September 2004 and February 2008.
De Bourg was granted bail by the Acting Chief Magistrate in the sum of $900,000 with three sureties.
He is expected to make his first court appearance on May 25th 2009.

We have waited a long time for some one to be made accountable to the hundreds of persons throughout the carribean and in particular grenada and her sister isles who have lost several hundreds of their hard earned money by placing in trust to the CAP.BANK their life saving but as in every case there is another side to this unforunate situation and that of the previous NNP and the Banking industry administrations who vetted or have they thoes responsible for this current mess and i and am sure several other people of this good islands hope that persons link to the previous government should also be charge so that the message being sent out is we grenadians will not tolerate this type of rouge trading again in our country, because at the end of the day it is the poorest admist us who suffers the most hardship of loosing our hard earned savings and hope that justice will prevail and that this type of things never happens again.
