Hillsborough, March 30th- Diabetes and diabetes management are the focus of a two-day health to be held in Carriacou on April 2 and 3. It’s being put on by the New York-based organization, the Carriacou & Petite Martinique Action Committee, which has recruited the assistance of an endocrinologist and a podiatrist to help at the fair. Day one of the event on Thursday will include a lecture at the Hotel Laurena, where educational materials relevant to diabetes will be distributed. There will also be an address from Senator Hon. George Prime, Minister of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs. On Friday at the Hillsborough Health Centre, there will be diabetic screening and foot care. Members of the public are invited to attend what the organizers have described as a very important activity on a serious health topic. The Carriacou & Petite Martinique Action Committee was formed in 1990 for the main purpose of helping to improve the lives of the people of the tri-island state.
