RGPF ISSUES RELEASE ON STRAY DOG AND ANIMALS
The Royal Grenada Police Force is appealing to persons to secure their dogs, thus avoiding the animals from causing harm and distress to other persons. The appeal is made as a result of the growing number of complaints of dogs attacking persons and livestock, and also causing damage to private property. In the spirit of building stronger bonds within our communities the Police are urging persons to be more considerate and take responsibility for their dogs. Meanwhile with the advent of the dry season, owners of livestock, especially in the southern part of the island are encouraged to refrain from allowing their animals to stray. Stray animals cause serious problems for persons using our road ways, and damage to private properties especially in the Grand Anse, Morne Rouge and Point Salines areas. Hoteliers and drivers usually file numerous reports outlining the destruction and damages cause by these animals, especially cows and sheep. The Royal Grenada Police Force and the related Government Agencies will be forced to impound animals found straying along roadways and on private properties. Despite being in the dry season, the authorities would not allow stray animals to continue to destroy and/or cause damage to private property. Owners of animals and the general public are urged to be understanding. Officers of the Royal Grenada Police Force will continue to monitor this situation and respond appropriately. Let us work together to save lives and keep our surrounding clean and beautiful. FROM: RGPF INSIDE GRENADA NEWS
