click
Mt. Rose St. Patrick’s March 30th 2009 His Excellency Mr. Carlyle Glean Governor General Grenada Carriacou & Petite Martinique RE: A call for the revocation of the appointment of Mr. Chester Humphrey now known as Senator Chester Humphrey from the two offices which he now holds in the senate. (1) Representing the unions. (2) Representing our tri-island nation as Deputy President of the Senate. “SENATOR CHESTER HUMPHREY IS A DECLARED ATHEIST”. Sir, Having full knowledge that our tri-island nation in harmony with our GRENADA CONSTITUTION ORDER 1973, PAGE 11 caption “PREAMBLE”. The appointment of Senator Chester Humphrey to these offices is a direct insult to GOD and to the intelligence of our land and people. Our people solemnly and holistically acknowledge and reverence the existence of a triune GOD. We acknowledge HIM as the maker of heaven and earth and quoting from psalms: 24-1 “The earth is the lords’ and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell there in. The majority of our people also believe that we must worship him in the beauty of holiness and let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. It is our primary view that there exist a loving GOD and therefore we worship and praise him. I have some concerns about the appointment of Senator Chester Humphrey which I would like to share with our tri-island nation. (1) I am of the opinion that a vast majority of our people which includes; our most vulnerable and innocent young persons in our society who should be exposed to truth and proper upbringing, doesn’t know or is not knowledgeable that such exist within our society, it is for this reason that I bring this matter in the open and face to face with our population so that they become fully aware of how the highest institution of our land is operating presently. (2) I would like to find out from the Prime Minister who claims that he is the bastion of “ACCOUNTABILITY, INTERGRITY AND HONESTY” and continue to brag about the rule of law and respect for our institutions, how was he able to advise the office of the Governor General for the appointment of these two offices knowing full well that the holder is a declared atheist. ATHEIST: An atheist is a person who does not believe in GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT. It is my belief that this nation will continue to exist as a CONFUSED NATION so long as we continue to tolerate such behavior pattern in our parliament, the highest institution in our land. In light of the fore going I now make the loudest clarion call and as a matter of grave urgency and expediency to the offices of: (1) The speaker of the House of Representatives. (2) The President of the Senate. (3) Ecclesiastical Organisation. (4) Other organizations within the nation. To bring this matter to a close in favour of our tri-island nation Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Sincerely, ……………………………… Winston “Winty” Frederick Former Parliamentary Representative for constituency of St. Patrick’s East and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. To call for someones job because he doesnot believe in god is crazy.Grenadians have sense and know that people have a right to believe or not to.Stop imposing on other people.Leave religion where it belongs.

I believe our columnist is missing the point here. Are you saying that because the gentleman is an atheist that he must not have a voice in the affairs of his nation. Is that where we have reached? Isn't he still a Grenadian citizen? I am yet to understand what bearing ones religious belief or lack thereof has to do with contributing to nation building. I must tell you, from a Pastor's/minister's point of view, that there is no difference in God's eyes between the senator and one who says he believes in God but does not obey God. They are both heading in the same direction. Our responsibility is to win both to God. Conversion. I don't know if you are a christian your comments regarding the Senator will only create strife and division. And by the way, Hangman, I suppose you wake yourself up every morning. What is happening in the world in the name of God does not mean it is approved by God. Anyone can commit an act on a name but it does not mean they have the approval by that person or entity. Thank you.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE SOMEONE BELIEVE IN YOUR GOD?THIS IS SO SILLY I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT A PERSON WITH SENSE WILL WRITE SUCH A STUPID ARTICLE.WHICH GOD DO YOU WANT HIM TO BELIEVE IN.YOU MUST BE REMINDED THAT THE MOST VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD IS IN THE NAME OF GOD.RESPECT OTHERS BELIEVERS AND NONBELIEVERS.

First of all may i say to the writer of this colunm that we as a people in this small tri-island states of ours are entitled to hold views which do not always confirm with thoes of other people, but at the same time this does not give us a mandate to call for the hanging of persons holding non believing faith, we are not god just children of god and we are in no position to advocate the kind of measures being advocated by the writer ,we must remember that last year the good people of our tri -islands voted for the removal of a very corrupt administration, they did so with the voting rights that have been given to them so therefore i called upon the writer to remember this quote judge not he before you judge you judge yourself ,i say this man should be allowed to keep his post on the grounds that he is good at his job and not weather he is a believer in god.
