CADET CORPS NEEDS 50 VOLUNTEERS AS OFFICERS
The Grenada Cadet Corps (GCC) is seeking to recruit 50 volunteers to fill positions in the Officer Corps across Grenada and Carriacou. According to the Corps Public Relations Officer Mr. George Cherebin, there is an overwhelming demand from secondary schools to establish cadet units to enhance discipline among their student populations. “We need volunteers to be able to set up the requisite number of units. Teachers and persons with good standing in their communities, who possess leadership abilities, a clean Police Record and school certificate, are urged to join the Grenada Cadet Corps in order to enrich the lives of young Grenadians” quoted Judy Benoit, a member of the Management Committee. The Grenada Cadet Corps is a Voluntary Youth Organisation which aims to develop qualities of leadership, character, responsibility, discipline and the ideals of selfless service, and patriotism, among others, in the youth of our nation. It is structured along military lines and involves both military and community activities. Adults who are interested in working with the youth of our nation and becoming Commissioned Officers or Warrant Officers are asked to e-mail grenadacadetcorps@gmail.com or contact any of the following: ASP Cosmas Douglas – Royal Grenada Police Force, Fort George Mr. Nigel Noel - Office of the Prime Minister, Botanical Gardens Ms Judy Benoit - Ministry of Health, Botanical Gardens Mr. George Cherebin - Huggins Pharmaceuticals, Lagoon Road Mr. Jeff Byer - L & M Investments, Maurice Bishop Highway
