PASSING OF OVID GILL  
We regret to announce that our colleague Ovid Gill passed away this morning (April 20th) at his home at Woodlands, St.George’s. He was 79 years. Mr.Gill has enjoyed a distinguished legal career for the past 48 years, having been called to the Grenada Bar in January 1961. After his call to the Grenada Bar, he served in private practice for 19 ½ years before proceeding to Barbados (1980) to take up the position of Legal Counsel with the Grenada Development Bank (GDB). He served the GDB for 20 years before returning to Grenada in 2000. For the past 9 years Mr.Gill has been a full time Consultant with Ciboney Chambers. During his distinguished career, he was particularly well known for his brilliance in conveyancing. In 1962, Mr.Gill did a brief stint as Magistrate of the Eastern District (Grenville & St.David’s) Mr.Gill is the father of four children, being Gigi, Haydn, Dwain and recently appointed Chief Magistrate, Tamara Gill. He was also the father-in-law of Ruggles Ferguson, Managing Partner of Ciboney Chambers. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
