COUPLE SUSPECTED OF CARRYING VIRUS
A Grenadian national who recently completed university studies in Mexico and her Surinamese boyfriend have been placed under quarantine for the suspected swine flu virus, health officials confirmed on Wednesday. The couple, who arrived from Mexico Tuesday evening, has been ordered to remain in a house with three other relatives on the outskirts of the capital for seven days without leaving, while health officials try to determine if they contracted the deadly virus, which has been confirmed to have killed seven people in Mexico and is suspected in the deaths of at least 150 others in the Latin American country. "The two individuals have been cooperating with the (health) ministry's directions and have been provided with the required medical treatment as a pre-emptive measure," a government statement said.
