Hillsborough, May 20-Twenty fishermen from the island of Petite Martinique were involved in two days of training in new fishing techniques.
During the training sessions, the trainees built and deployed two fishing aggregating devices. The devices were constructed using concrete, rope and buoys.
The training was facilitated by Howard Mitchell, a Petite Martinique fishermen in collaboration with the Fisheries Division of the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs.
According to Fisheries Officer, Junior McDonald, the fishermen indicated that the training was timely and will create positive results.
