OPPOSITION CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO ENGAGE AIR JAMAICA OF...
click
On the 8th day of May 2009, Air Jamaica, the only carrier serving Grenada from the Northeast USA, announced its new policy to passengers flying to the island, imposing a $25.00 service charge for a second piece of luggage. Furthermore the second piece of luggage is not guaranteed to arrive on the same flight as the passenger but could take as long as 7 days after for receipt. This together with the earlier change in flight schedule has generated grave concerns for out tourism Industry, particularly as market shaping media such as USA today, Travel Magazines and trade papers have all picked up the story. Her Majesty’s Opposition calls on the NDC Administration and the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, to intervene and hold discussions with the management of Air Jamaica to ease the burdensome inconvenience on Grenadians and other travellers to and from Grenada. During the NNP administrations there had been continuous meetings with Air Jamaica and other airlines resulting in the best possible terms and condition for our travelling public. As a responsible Opposition we intend to assist by contacting the Jamaican Government (owner of the airline), and Air Jamaica officials in NY and Miami to seek some redress on behalf of our citizens. We hope that the airline will consider the request and implement a solution to ease the difficulties and be more accommodating to our passengers in time for the upcoming carnival season. From The Office of the Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition

Gabe please read carefully. I am not making reference or putting emphasis on the color of skin/ race. I am inferring that the folks in these positions are well educated individuals. They are powerful because of that education. They get to hire or fire-to promote and demote. That power comes from their accumulated education. Education is and always will be an asset to any individual. Too much education is never a detriment. In effect Gabe being "so educated..." means that you will be so powerful that even if you cant tell your backside from your face that will be insignificant compared to what you can do. Einstein "could not tell his backside from his face" but education allowed him to be immortal. Your reference of the gypsy in your response demonstrates your self-indulgence. I Know that gypsy is not a Grenadian. But Grenada is part of the west indies- which is part of the world. We are all one. Does making a point about Grenada means that I only have to quote Grenadians? No I don't think so. What happens in Trinidad affect Grenada and may effect Jamaica. That is fact. Is poverty in Trinidad different than poverty in Grenada? Is murder in Trinidad different than murder in Grenada? We are all one. Gypsy doesn't have to be from Grenada for me to quote him.

Mr Kevin i read with joy your daily thoughts on this site which reminds me of a certain gentleman from east asia who went by the name of chairman mo and i especially liked the piece about the gypsy, come to think of it i did not know that we have gypsy in grenada but thats another matter, but you know what really excite me was your bit about doctors, lawyers, and business men my friend are you saying that whenever you look around all you can see is these people of colour eg white in these profession, sir i am so shocked and supprise of you and another of your quote was that if you look in our prison ,or crazy house ,or the bum on the street and even the drug sellers, what you see is blacks and you go as far as to say that because of their lack of education thats why some of them are there ,well my friends again you had me ,for i can tell you that not all of our black brothers or sisters in jail,or mad,or bums are un-educated and coming from a black brother i am so supprise, so my Mr K thanks for re educating me the fool i am

As the incomparable Gypsy once said " Little black boy, go to school and learn...- education is the key to get out off the street and all poverty. Be black!be black! but be conscious!" In effect Gabe if you believe being an uneducated black fool in this world is a good thing then I suggest that you look in the front see who is the doctor-look in the back see who is the lawyer-look in the bank see who is the banker-look at the business see who is the owner. Then when you do that look at the drug seller- the uneducated 'Dan'. They are the ones into out of the trash can. look in the jail cells tell me who you see there? a lot of uneducated black men living in despair. Gabe I warn you!! Be black but be conscious!!!! BE AWARE!

Mr K man you are so dammed clever you should be a politician but i am worried about thoes big words you keep using come to think of it uncle gairy used to use thos type of big words and yes you dont know me and i dont know you and what we have in common is that we are both grenadians ,both committed to a positive cause for our grenada and our people and just to add a little something to your debate about education i remember someone once said that not all educated people are educated there are some that are so educated that they cant see their backside from their face.
