St. George’s, June 15, 2009, (GIS) - Health Minister, Karl Hood, has commended Grenada’s pharmacists for the special role they play in the preservation of the nation’s health. June 14-19 has been designated "Pharmaceutical Association Week" and the minister is urging pharmacists to continue the good work, vigilance and dedication for which they have become well known. The Minister also commented on the theme of the week of observance, “Your Pharmacist Cares.” Mr. Hood said the caring spirit of industry officials is documented in the code of ethics for pharmacists. “This code, prepared and supported by pharmacists, is intended to state publicly the principles that form the fundamental basis of the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists,” he said. “These principles, based on moral obligations and virtues, are established to guide pharmacists in relationships with patients, health professionals and society”.
