Hillsborough, June 18th- Sunday, June 21st will be a special day for the cricket fraternity of Carriacou & Petite Martinique as the first cricket match is expected to be played at the mini-stadium in Lauriston. The final of the Republic Bank Domestic Cricket Tournament is scheduled to take place there. However, before the match, officials of the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs will hold an official blessing of the turf wicket. The turf wicket was constructed there last month through the efforts of the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs. According to Sports Officer Joel Lendore this will boost the sport of cricket and now opens the island to invitational matches from regional and international teams. From Deanna Isaac Carriacou
