Hillsborough, June 29th- Diana Gittens, a netball player from Carriacou , has become the first person from the sister island to be selected to represent Grenada on the national under 23 netball team. A recent graduate of Hillsborough Secondary School , Diana, will be traveling with the team to Nevis on a one week tour. Gittens, was awarded during her graduation ceremony for her outstanding performance in netball during her five years at the school. She will be playing in the position of wing attack. According to Sports Officer Joel Lendore, her selection should serve as an encouragement to other players to excel in the sport. The Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs led by Senator the Hon. George Prime is providing support for her travel. “I want to encourage Diana to do her best with the team. She has earned her selection and we in Carriacou hope that her contribution to the Grenada team while on tour will bring success to the team,” said Minister Prime. From Deanna Isaac
