Dear Community, The family of Sherdeen Buckmire extend our deepest gratitude to those of you who supported the July 11th, 2009 fundraiser party held in the fight against Shedeen Buckmire's brain tumor. Currently Sherdeen is in Pediatric D6 South Ward of King's County Hospital in Brooklyn. She was readmitted on Monday June 29th, 2009 into Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Kings County. An MRI taken then, has revealed that the tumor did not respond to the treatment administered (radiation and chemo) but in fact has enlargened. After careful consultation between Sherdeen's parents and the team of physicians and specialists further chemo has been stopped. Sherdeen was transferred to pediatric general ward during the first week of July 2009. She would be returning to Grenada soon. We also extend our gratitude to the pediatricians, oncologists/hematologists, neurologists and nurses who contributed to Sherdeen's care at King County Hospital. Special thanks to oncologist Dr, Miller and pediatrician Dr.Eva. You did an excellent job and we know you care. Thank you all and please continue to pray for Sherdeen.
