Opposition leader Doctor the right Honorable Keith Mitchell has congratulated Kirani James on his record breaking run (45.24) in the 400 meters and winning of the 200 meters at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Italy last weekend.
Doctor Mitchell said that Kirani has not only made him proud but the entire Grenada, Carriacou and Petit.
He described the athlete as a shining star who will continue to make Grenada proud at the highest level on the athletics field and will be Grenada’s Usaine Bolt in the international arena.
The opposition leader said that the sport personality is a well disciplined young man who will excel at all level because he has what it takes and has showed that he is prepared to work to achieve all his life goals.
He said that his former New National Party has paved the way for Kirani and other sports personality to perform extremely well because of their love for the young people of this country which include the development of sports.
The Former Prime Minister who is also a sports enthusiast himself said that his party is committed towards the continued development of sports and youth development in this country.
Kirani is the first person in his division to win both events at these games.

It appears to me , that there is a great fear in some folks of Doctor Mitchell presence in the media, and his persistent stong impact in Grenada. Why such fear of a man simply doing his job as an elected representative, a patriotic grenadian , and leader of the opposition.It is my conclusion that this fear of doctor Mitchell presence in the media, is based on two factors - an awareness of how much he is still loved and respected by the people of Grenada , and an acute understanding of the ineptitude and incompetence of the presennt administration that will inevitably lead to the return of Doctor Mitchell and the NNP to government .

Hi Shelia lady i like your style and only wish that more of our people could see the light and tell Mr K CM the way it should be told ,because i also noted that when the jamaicians won thoes gold medals at the last olympic Dr KCM was first to congratulate their prime minister,his mate ,but he the said DrKCM said nothing about thoes persons we sent to the olympic ,and that shows the type of man this man is, but we wont be fooled again until he is sent to jail.
