BHOLA CALLS ON GOVERNMENT NOT TO GIVE LIP SERVICE TO KI...
Former Minister for Sports Hon. Roland Bhola is calling on the people of St. John’s, the general public and in particular the Government of Grenada to give full support to young Kirani James who continues to excel making all Grenadians proud. The former Minister believes that Kirani’s recognition should not only be for one day but says he has great potential and needs all the support he can get throughout his career. Bhola says he is disappointed that the Government after it’s 1st year in office did not commence the refurbishment of the athletics stadium through funding which was already committed to the NNP administration by the Chinese Government. Bhola also calls on the Government to proceed with the work on the Curtbert Peters Park since funding was already committed by the NNP administration, and the contractor was approved for the second phase of work. He applauds the vision of the NNP administration to invest in the young people of the country by building the modern facility. He said many of our nation’s athletes have benefitted from it in the past and should be given the opportunity to continue to do so as they to excel locally, regionally and internationally. In extending his best wishes to Kirani, Bhola said the decision to build a National Stadium was born with young people like Kirani in mind and referred to Kirani as a role model to other young athletes. The former Sports Minister also condemns the action of the Government which prevented the parents of Kirani from being part of the welcoming party for his return from the games in Italy where he represented Grenada and won two gold medals. He calls on the Government not to pay lip service to the young sporting personality but to do everything to help shape and groom him to be one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen. This he said must include giving the necessary support to his parents who are playing a very important role in his life at this time. OFFICE OF THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION

BHOLA CALLS ON GOVERNMENT NOT TO GIVE LIP SERVICE TO KI...
Dear Mr Bhola, What service did your administration/party give Allene Francique?A--- service. The first year of awards during Independence Celebration award was given to Lewis Hamilton who I show dont even have a Grenadian Pastport. Lip service is better than no service. I will ask for portion of any stadium be named after all the sportmen and women

Mr. Gabe, thanks for the remarks you make. I also remember Mr. Bhola down-playing Hazelann Regis that same year of the Olympics i was able to read the article. NNP made promises to the athletes and nothing was done and promises are still being made. I wonder if any of our athletes got anything valuable from our government for all they have done. Our athletes need to speak out. Our athletes needs more than thank you, they need something of value so they can look back and say this is what my country gave me. So stop all the politics and do the right thing.

First, congrats to Kirani James on a job well-done. Kirani is a talented young man and with God by his side he will continue doing great things. Congratulations to his coach Albert Joseph, his parents and all who have played a positive role in his development. Its seems like this is becoming a political issue rather than a celebration, as usual...Kirani take it from those of us who been representing Grenada, focus on the positive and leave politics to politicians....Am awaiting all the promises.... including the stadium.....Thanks and God Bless! I am sure the Association would make it up to Kirani and his parents, As heart breaking as the situation is, politics not gonna solve the problem.
