The Grenada Bureau of Standards has organized a number of activities to commemorate its 20th Anniversary during the week of July 19 – 24, 2009. The commemoration will begin with an address on Radio and Television by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Nazim Burke, on Sunday July 19, declaring the week open. On Monday and Tuesday, July 20 and 21, the Bureau will team up with the Caribbean Regional Organization for Standardization (CROSQ) to stage a two-day work shop for laboratory professionals on ‘Estimation of Uncertainty in Measurements’. On Wednesday morning, a half day workshop will be held for farmers and growers of agricultural produce on ‘Good Agricultural Practices’. During the afternoon, however, a workshop will be held for manufacturers of ready-mix concrete and block makers on ‘Best Practices for Cement and Concrete’. Thursday will see the staging of a sensitization meeting with tour operators in the morning and tour guides in the afternoon on the Grenada Tourism Industry Certification Programme. The week will culminate with an Awards Ceremony and Luncheon, which will be held on Friday July 24, 2009. During the entire week, there will be daily radio quizzes on GBN and Wee FM, as well as an in-house Exhibition and Open House at the Bureau’s main office.
