TWO ROAD FATALITIES OVER THE PAST WEEK
click
6 year old Kriston Jolly of Mt. Horne, St. Andrew’s and 62 year old Shirley Agnes Philbert of Darbeau, St. George’s both lost their lives in two separate vehicular accidents during the course of this week. Young Kriston Jolly met his death after he was knocked down by a white Toyota bus plying the Seamoon to Grenville route. Reports indicate that the youngster was on his way home from a summer school class he was attending. He was rushed to the princess Alice Hospital and then to the General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was the son of Ann Charles and George Jolly of the same address. Ms Shirley Philbert was knocked down in the Cherry Hill area by an Isuzu truck driven by a young man. She was reported to be walking along the sidewalk when the driver of the truck apparently lost control of his vehicle and collided with her. She was rushed to the General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Ms Philbert leaves to mourn her relatives and friends including her four children - among them Cheny Joseph, former national footballer and manager of Tropical Shipping and Eve, a well known netballer. The Grenadian Connection staff wishes to extend our deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims of these tragic accidents and, at the same time, make an urgent appeal to motorists to always drive responsibly and to be constantly on the lookout for pedestrians and other motorists who are using the nation’s roads. Any life lost is invariably accompanied by intense emotional anguish and immeasurable suffering.
