RELOCATION OF MOON SHADOW RESIDENTS
The Government of Grenada is moving ahead with plans to erect a bus-terminus at the Moon Shadow Park area in the town of Grenville. This project has been put on hold for a protracted period while negotiations were held with the squatters in the area with a view to finalizing plans for their relocation. Some of the squatters have not been too enthused with the idea of leaving the area, which is located just outside the main town district. The Government seems to have exhausted negotiations and the squatters were recently informed by government officials that they are expected to vacate the area before next month, when work is expected to commence on the preparation of the site for construction. The squatters have been offered the opportunity to occupy houses at the Dunfermline Housing Scheme for a two year period before being moved to a location in the Soubise area while others have been offered lots of land somewhere in the vicinity of Telescope. The Moon Shadow Park area in Grenville has been described my some persons as an ‘eye-sore’ in the heart of town and it is alleged that the area is one frequented by persons who are involved in the use and sale of drugs, making it a prime target for frequent raids by the police. A bus terminus is seen as an essential facility in the town of Grenville at this time since the narrow streets of this quaint town is overflowing with parked vehicles, pedestrians, peddlers and kiosks on the sidewalks and areas designated as ad-hoc bus stands. This much-needed facility will go a long way in creating some more space and ease of movement in the town.

Mr Hangman now you talking ,that place in grenville is like a pig dump and yes it is time the place is cleaned up thoes persons living there should take the offer made on the condition that it is signed sealed and delivered and there should not be a repeat of what has happened to the people in lagoon road and elsewhere who was gazumped by the last government and their money men who promise plenty but gave little in terms of relocation, roads and the sewage,so again i say this is a good idea and the people should accept but look out for the fine prints.
