Veteran journalist Lincoln Depradine has made his debut as an author. His first book, “White Frock & Coals Dust: The Story of A Community Called The Wharf,’’ has just hit the market in New York where it was published. “I’m delighted that the book has finally been published,’’ said Depradine. “It represents more than four years of researching, writing, re-writing, editing and re-editing.’’ The book’s main setting is The Wharf/Carenage community in Grenada, where Depradine grew up. It’s about the people who lived and frequented the area and of some of the events that occurred there. “But many of the events involve more than The Wharf. Some have relations to national and even regional issues,’’ Depradine explains. “I encourage North American residents wishing to purchase copies of the book, which are being sold at $15.95 each, to place their orders now.’’ In New York, where an official book launch will take place on September 3 at the Grenada Consulate General in Manhattan, subscribers can call 917-334-2935 or 347-255-7108.
