GRENADA, July 30, 2009 – In a prime time address to the nation, Grenada’s Prime Minister, Hon. Tillman Thomas on Thursday night announced a much anticipated reshuffle of his one year old administration.
In his preamble, the Prime Minister said that he has been listening to the views and concerns expressed by the people of the country and he recognizes the fact that qualitative improvement is urgent and necessary for the sustainable growth and improvement of the country. He said that his mandate as prime Minister is hinged on two very important things:
• To inspire and lead the nation
• To manage government effectively
It was against this background that the Prime Minister announced his cabinet reshuffle with the following designation of portfolios:

Hon. Nazim Burke, Finance, Planning, Economy, Energy and Cooperatives
Hon. Peter David, Foreign Affairs
Hon. Patrick Simmons, Youth Empowerment and Sports
Hon. Michael Church, Environment, Foreign Trade and Export Development
Hon. Alleyne Walker, Housing, Lands and Community Development
Hon. Joseph Gilbert, Works, Physical Development and Public Utilities
Hon. Karl Hood, Labour, Social Security and Ecclesiastical Affairs
