There are three system already developed for this hurricane season and the New National Party is urging all Grenadians to be prepared at all times and to take the necessary precautionary measures to ensure their safety in the case of any eventuality. The party will like to encourage the tri island state to have an emergency plan in place during the season, clean containers available for the storage of water and other important items, perishable food items and take all other measures necessary which will assist in their safety for this hurricane season. The N.N.P said that prevention is always better than cure and it is always better to be prepared and nothing happened than to refuse to be caught off guard. The main opposition stated that Grenadians have firsthand experience of a hurricane and level of destruction that it can cause and therefore, will have a better understanding and appreciation for proper preparation during the season. The three systems which have recently developed are Anna, Bill and Claudette. The first hurricane of the season Bill is being closely monitored and while Grenada may not be directly hit people are being told to expect some heavy showers.
