PRIME MINISTER’S EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO GIBBS FAMILY
ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA, FRIDAY AUGUST 21st, 2009_ Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas has expressed his condolences to the Gibbs family on the passing of Dr. Lawrence Gibbs. “Dr. Gibbs was selfless in his service to people generally, particularly his patients. His satisfaction came from being able to help those with whom he came into contact,” the Prime Minister said. According to the Prime Minister, who on Friday attended the funeral service of this famous St. Andrew’s doctor and politician, it was a desire to make a contribution to the betterment of people that brought him into the political arena. Dr Gibbs served as Minister of Health under a National Democratic Congress government between 1990 and 1995. He served the main physician at the Princess Alice Hospital for many years. “We have lost a physician whose motivation was the health of his patients. He was well respected and well loved by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed,” the Prime Minister said. Dr. Lawrence Gibbs received the Medal of Honour from the Government of Grenada for his services to the Community, as part of Independence awards in 2009.

PRIME MINISTER’S EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO GIBBS FAMILY
We wish some of these money loving hungry doctors in Grenada could be one quarter as much as Dr. Gibbs was in his conscientious treatment of his patients. May God rest his Soul in peace.
