ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd, 2009_Prime Minister Tillman Thomas on Thursday reiterated Grenada’s friendship with the Republic of Cuba during a farewell visit by outgoing Cuba Ambassador to Grenada, H.E Victoria M. Delgado Ramirez. “We are fully appreciative of the role Cuba has played in Grenada’s development over the years,” Prime Minister Thomas told Her Excellency, adding that his administration is looking forward to building on the “friendship” that currently exists between the two countries. The Prime Minister praised the outgoing Ambassador for the “many things” that took place during her accreditation to St. George’s. Her Excellency, who presented a large painting of a Cuban landscape to the Prime Minister, said she is leaving Grenada with mixed feelings. “I am happy because I am going back to my homeland but I will miss being in Grenada and all the friends I have made during my time here,” she said. A new Cuban Ambassador is expected in St. George’s soon.
